जीएम रोडवेज रविंद्र पाठक ने बताया कि अंबाला में सामान्य बस रूटों के साथ-साथ महिलाओं की सुविधा के लिए करीब 20 अतिरिक्त बसें रक्षाबंधन पर मुफ्त यात्रा के लिए लगाई गई हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि प्रतिवर्ष हरियाणा सरकार की ओर से महिलाओं को रक्षाबंधन के दिन मुफ्त बस यात्रा की सुविधा प्रदान की जाती है ताकि आर्थिक तंगी के कारण कोई भी बहन अपने भाई की कलाई पर राखी बांधने से वंचित न रहे।इसमें महिला स्वयं मुफ्त यात्रा करने के साथ-साथ दो छोटे बच्चों को भी साथ ले जा सकती है।

India's Satywart Kadian has won a bronze medal in the
96-kg freestyle category at the World Junior Wrestling Championships in Sofia,
Bulgaria.
Satyawart produced a clinical display of freestyle
combat to get the better of Turkey's Ali Bonceoglu to open India'saccount
at the championships on Saturday.
Earlier, Satyawart's march was halted by Armenia'
ViktorKazishvili in the semifinals, as he ran out of steam and lost the bout in
the first period itself.
The burly Indian had won against three opponents, including
a Kazakh and an Iranian grappler, before making it to the last-four
stages.
Indian Air Force‘s C 130J-30 Super Hercules
The Indian Air Force on Tuesday landed its C-130J Super
Hercules transport plane at the world’s highest and recently-activated airstrip
at Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in Ladakh, close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC)
where Indian and Chinese troops had witnessed a three-week long stand-off in
April.
“A C-130J Super Hercules landed at DBO, the highest airstrip
in the world at 0654 hours on Tuesday.
The Commanding Officer, Group Captain
Tejbir Singh, and the crew of the ‘Veiled Vipers’ along with senior officer
touched down on the DBO airstrip located at 16614 feet (5065 meters) in the
Aksai Chin area,’’ the IAF said in a statement.
“With this enhanced airlift capability, the IAF will now be
in a better position to meet the requirements of our land forces who are
heavily dependent on the air bridge for sustenance in these higher and
inhospitable areas,’’ the IAF said.
Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Divas
Rajiv Gandhi
Sadbhavana Divas is being observed today on the 69th birth anniversary of the
former prime minister.
Prayer meetings were organised at Veer Bhumi, Rajiv
Gandhi Samadhi Sthal, in New Delhi and Sripermbadur Memorial in Tamil Nadu,
where he was assisinated in 1991.
Members of parliament paid rich tributes to former
Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the central hall of parliament.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumar, Prime Minister Dr.
Manmohan Singh, Senior BJP leader Lalkrishna Advani and other leader of
different parties paid floral tributes to the departed Prime minister.
On the occasion, Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Award will be presented
to Sarod Player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.

13 state trading enterprises (STEs) as canalising agencies
for exports of onion, Parliament was informed .
The Commerce Ministry
has recently imposed a minimum export price (MEP) of USD 650 per tonne on onion
to curb shipments and control rising prices.
The 13 STEs include NAFED, Spices Trading Corporation, AP
State Trading Corporation, and Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board,
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry D.Purandeswari said in a reply in
Lok Sabha.
AP State Trading Corporation, Karnataka State Cooperative
Federation, National Cooperative Consumers Federation and North Karnatka Onion
Growers cooperative Society are also among the designated STEs
Sonia launches food security scheme in
Delhi
The food security scheme in India is “unparalleled” in
the world and aims to feed every poor person in the country, Congress president
Sonia Gandhi said in New Delhi while launching the ambitious food scheme in
Delhi.
Delhi was the first State to clear the scheme.
We have people who still don’t get food and there are
children who are malnourished. We decided to bring this scheme so that every
poor gets food and no child sleeps without food,” Ms. Gandhi said at Talkatora
Stadium in New Delhi.
Under the scheme, a total of 73.5 lakh people will get
food grain at highly subsidised rates in the State.
The guarantee of food provided by food security scheme
on such a large scale is unparalleled in the world,”.
The launch of the programme — deemed a game-changer for
the Congress ahead of general elections in 2014 — coincides with the birth
anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Special VRS packages for 12 major ports
Shipping Minister G K Vasan said in a written reply to Lok Sabha------
Profit of major ports declined by about 30 per cent to Rs
1,220.61 crore in 2012-13 over the previous fiscal.
Of the 12 major ports - Kolkata, Paradip, Visakhapatnam,
Ennore, Chennai, VO Chidambaranar, Cochin, New Mangalore, Mormugao, Mumbai,
Jawaharlal Nehru and Kandla, four ports had reported losses in the last fiscal.
The reason for incurring loss by Kolkata Port Trust is fall
in cargo traffic by 3.31 million tonnes.
In Cochin Port, the loss during the
last three years is attributable to increase in maintenance dredging cost,
payment of salary and in Mormugao port, the loss is due to ban on iron ore
mining and export in Goa.
Brotherhood spiritual leader Mohammed
Badie arrested in Cairo
The spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, General
Guide Mohammed Badie, has been arrested in Cairo according to Egypt
authorities.
Reports said he was
detained at a residential flat in Nasr City.
A state of emergency is in force in Egypt amid turmoil
following a crackdown on Islamists in which hundreds have died.
A three-day period of mourning has been declared for 25
policemen killed in the Sinai peninsula by suspected Islamists.
And 36 Islamist protesters died in a prison van in the
capital Cairo on Sunday.
Almost 900 people, including more than 100 police and
soldiers, are reported to have been killed in Egypt since Wednesday, when the
army cleared protest camps set up by supporters of deposed President Mohammed
Morsi, many of them members of the Muslim Brotherhood movement.
