Applications are invited by Forest Survey of India Digital , Recruitment in Forest Survey of India Dehradun, for ten (10) positions of Technical Associates (TA/JRF) on contractual basis for Digital Image Processing (DIP)/Geographical Information System (GIS) related work, on a short-term basis initially for a period of six months. Extension of tenure to the deserving TAs would be possible only if it is required for the project
Essential Qualification: M.Sc./B.E/B.Tech/MCA from recognized University/Institute with
some experience of remote sensing & GIS application
(Special paper, project, dissertation, work experience etc.)
Desirable Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Remote Sensing and GIS applications.
Preference will be given to UGC/CSIR/NET qualified
candidates.
Desirable Experience: 6 month’s experience of working in Digital Image Processing
(DIP) and GIS softwares.
Emoluments: Rs. 16000/-p.m. (fixed) + HRA as admissible.
Age: shall not be more than 30 years as on date on advertisement.
Selection: Candidates have to appear for written test, and if qualified, have to appear for
an hand-on-test followed by interview on 30th June, 2014. If the number of candidates is
more, the selection process will continue for one more day. The venue for the test is
Forest Survey of India, Kaulagarh Road, Dehradun-248195, Uttarakhand. All the
aspiring candidates must reach the venue by 9:00 a.m. Candidates who arrive after 9:30
a.m. will not be considered
State Forest Policy 2013
J&K unveils maiden policy for green cover
Waking up from its deep slumber the Jammu and Kashmir
Government unveiled its maiden State Forest Policy 2013 for better management of its ‘green gold’.
Forests constitute nearly 47 per cent of geographic area of Kashmir and Jammu regions. The draft of the policy
was earlier approved by the State Cabinet on January 28 with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in chair.
