For Conducting a New Course/Additional Intake in Teacher Education Programme
infrastructural, instructional and other facilities has been/shall be provided as per the
NCTE norms, standards and guidelines prescribed from time to time.

Note--Admission to the Course will be made only after recognition is granted by the concerned
Regional Committee of the NCTE and affiliation is granted by the concerned
University/Affiliating Body.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) as a Statutory body came into existence in pursuance of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 

 Main objectives of the NCTE India
The main objectives of the NCTE are to achieve planned and coordinated development of the
teacher education system throughout the country, the regulation and proper maintenance of
Norms and Standards in the teacher education system and for matters connected therewith.
The mandate given to the NCTE is very broad and covers the whole gamut of teacher
education programmes including research and training of persons for equipping them to teach
at pre-primary, primary, secondary and senior secondary stages in schools, and non-formal
education, part-time education, adult education and distance (correspondence) education
courses.

NAAC in consultation with NCTE has formulated a three stage process for assessment and
accreditation as given below:

· Preparation of the Self-appraisal Report by the teacher education institution for
submission to NAAC
· Validation of the Self-appraisal Report by peers visiting the institution, and
· The final decision of NAAC based on the Self-appraisal Report and the recommendations
of the team of peers.
