Age  Not exceeding 50 years.

 Educational

(i) Good academic record with a Ph.D Degree in the discipline of Chemistry.
(ii) Fifty five percent of the marks, or equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed at the Masters Degree level in the discipline of Chemistry.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology– mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided Doctoral candidates and research students.
(iv) A minimum score of 300 as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by University Grants Commission in these regulations.

Experience
A minimum of five years of experience of teaching and/or research in Chemistry in an academic research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a university or college or accredited research Institution or Industry excluding the period of Ph.D Research with evidence of published work and a minimum of five publications as books and/or research or policy papers in Chemistry indexed or
ISBN or ISSN numbered books or journals and university developed ISBN or ISSN list of journals hosted in the website of the concerned university.

A relaxation of five percent of marks may be provided at the Graduate and Masters level for the Schedule Castes or Scheduled Tribes or differently-abled (Physically and Visually Handicapped) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. Rounding off of marks to make it to 55 % or 50 % as the case may be through grace mark procedure etc., by universities is not permissible for claiming relaxation.
