Decks cleared for oil refinery in Rajasthan
Decks have been cleared for setting up the much-awaited oil
refinery in Rajasthan with the Hindustan Corporation Limited board members approving
the State Government’s proposal in this
regard.
A memorandum of understanding for construction of refinery in Barmer district is likely to be signed. The project’s cost is estimated to be in the range of Rs.36,000 crore to Rs.40,000 crore, which would be the biggest ever investment in the desert State.
The State Government, which has been demanding installation of refinery since crude oil was discovered in the Barmer-Sanchore basin, gave in-principle approval to provide a financial package of Rs.3,376 crore to HPCL.
