Exam The Civil Service Examination is conducted by the Union Public
Service Commission (UPSC) of India, an autonomous entity established 1950 under
Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Every year, the UPSC conducts
examinations for recruitment to the Indian civil Service for Posts Indian
Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service.
CSAT:
The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is conducted by the UPSC for the selection of candidates for Civil Services (Mains) examination - Written and Interview. The examination is conducted, once every year, in accordance with the rules published by the Department of Personnel & Training. Roughly about 7% of the candidates taking this test qualify to appear in the Main Examination – this is an indicator of the competitive nature of this test.
Pattern:
The UPSC CSAT 2014 will have two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each and of 2.00 hours (120 minutes) duration each. All questions are of objective type. The marks scored in the CSAT 2013 are used for determining qualified candidates for the Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2013 only. The CSAT 2013 score (marks) will NOT be carried overt the next
